Why is my rabbit shedding so much?

I've had him since April 26th of this year, and though it isn't a long time at all, I'm experienced and have quite a bit of knowledge on the topic of rabbits from spending pretty much every waking moment of my life with my rabbit. He was eight weeks old when I got him...I got him the exact day he was considered to be completely weaned. He molted last month, so I wouldn't think this is molting. He's not losing clumps of fur and he's definitely not going bald. You know when you wear a black shirt and hold a light colored cat and you end up with a massive amount of cat fur on your shirt? That's what it's like. My best guess would be that he's shedding because he's getting bigger (I swear he looks bigger every day than he was the day before) so he's growing more fur, resulting in shedding...but I just wanted to make sure. He lives outside in a homemade hutch (which is very safe) and I assure you he isn't sick.
