Preterm labor concerns, go back to the hospital or wait it out till monday?

Tuesday I woke up at 6 am with contractions that lasted all day, but they varied between painful and just uncomfortable. I called my doctor and she had me come in. She checked my cervix and told me I was dilated 2 cm then even witnessed the contracting because of how hard my stomach got when she measured me. So she sent me to labor and delivery to be observed and possibly get a shot to stop labor if needed. I continued to have contractions and she said I was possibly in early labor but they eventually sent me home because my cervix wasn't dilating further. I've been having the same kind of contractions, lower back pain, leg pain, and cramping since. I possibly lost my mucus plug today, there was no blood but a big clump of gooey discharge. I have another appointment Monday to check things out but I'm wondering if I should wait? I'm 36 weeks by the way.
